James Clark, Principal
Mr. Clark has lived or worked in Irving since 2001 and has served the Irving ISD since 2010 as a teacher, a Dean of Students, and a campus administrator. Mr. Clark earned a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Baylor University.
“I am excited to partner with our parents, staff, and community to help our students achieve academic success and prepare for life beyond Irving ISD. My goal is for every student to dream big and achieve even bigger."
Charlie Alday, Assistant Principal
Mr. Alday has a Bachelor of Science in Bilingual Education and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas Woman’s University. Mr. Alday is a member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals. He has served over 20 years as an educator, beginning as a first-grade bilingual teacher and moving to an administrator in 2004. Mr. Alday began his career with Irving ISD as an Assistant Principal in 2006 and has served at Lamar Middle School and Travis Middle School. In addition to his administrative role, Mr. Alday enjoys serving the community and spending time with his wife Gina, a science teacher, and his two beautiful daughters Sarah and Sophia.
Mr. Alday is excited to be part of the Johnson Middle School family and work with such wonderful kids, parents/guardians and staff. He believes that all students can achieve high levels of success and he accepts “No Excuses” from any student not to achieve success!
Anabel Coughlin, Assistant Principal
Anabel Ibarra Coughlin graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas and joined the Irving ISD team in 2010. Her first position was at Barbara Cardwell Career Preparatory Center, an alternative education high school, where she taught Spanish 1, 2, 3 Honors, and AP 4. At Cardwell, she found her calling; she loved the classroom, her students and teaching. During this time, she was on the Campus Improvement Committee and a Spanish 2 curriculum writer. She joined Cardwell Prep’s leadership team as Instructional Technology Specialist in 2014 and enrolled at UNT, once more to earn her Master of Educational Leadership. As an ITS, she lead campus and district PD, served on the English and Social Studies curriculum writing teams, and on the campus PBIS committee. In 2015, she completed her Masters. She served as Cardwell’s ITS until 2017, and is now currently an administrator at Lady Bird Johnson Middle School. She was a proud eagle at UNT, she was a proud eagle at Cardwell, and she continues to be a proud eagle at Johnson Middle School.
Jasmin Herrera, Dean of Students
Mrs. Herrera graduated from Jack E. Singley Academy in 2007. She then earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Language and Literature with a concentration in Linguistics from University of Texas in Arlington in 2010. She began her educational career as a teacher at Nimitz High School. This will be her eighth year of education and she is proud to be a Johnson Eagle!
