To kick-off summer reading, students in grades PreK to seventh grade will receive free book bundles beginning May 24. Each student had the opportunity to choose from a selection of stories to add to their home library based on age range. In partnership with Scholastic and the Irving Public Library, families will find resources in their student's bundle to help them reach their summer reading goals. Beat the Summer Slide! Summer reading matters -- students who don't read can fall behind. Watch this video to learn more. Keep learning all summer by reading and participating in a wide range of activities. Parents, see resources below on the value of reading to your kids for 15 minutes a day, as well as tips to get them interested in reading this summer.
Summer reading bundles will be delivered to each campus during the month of May! On May 24, kinder to 2nd grade students will receive a bundle of five books, and students in 3rd to 5th grade will receive a bundle of four books. Students in 6th and 7th grade will receive three books each. PreK students will receive their book bundles on the last day of school.
