The application window for Irving ISD Schools of Choice is now closed for the 2026-2027 School year!
Irving ISD offers Schools of Choice for students in middle school and high school. These schools:
- Are open to any student
- Focus on special programs and learning paths
- Give students more options beyond their neighborhood school
- Help students become future-ready for college or careers

Leadership Academy at Crockett Middle School - The Leadership Academy at Crockett Middle School focuses on hands-on experiences and future-ready skills, inspiring students through our Six Pillars of Leadership: Purpose, Integrity, Accountability, Collaboration, Scholarship and Service. Students engage in real-world projects and practice effective communication, problem-solving and teamwork, while developing the confidence to lead in school, community and beyond. |

Singley Collegiate Academy - Located within Singley Academy, Singley Collegiate Academy offers students the opportunity to earn up to 60 hours of transferable college credit while in high school. Through a partnership with Dallas College North Lake, students can choose one of two pathways: an Associate of Arts in General Studies or an Associate of Science degree. Singley Collegiate Academy is a designated Early College High School (ECHS). |

South Irving Collegiate at Nimitz - Housed at Nimitz High School, South Irving Collegiate at Nimitz (SICAN) is the only P-TECH campus in the district. SICAN offers students an opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts in Teaching, an Associate of Science in Nursing or up to 60 hours of transferable college credit. The P-TECH model works closely with local Industry Partners, where students participate in high-quality work-based learning through internships and will graduate with a robust resume, industry certifications and the skills necessary for success. |

Cardwell Career Preparatory Center - Cardwell features a smaller campus and reduced class sizes to encourage high levels of learning in a more personalized environment. The campus offers two programs: House and flexible school hours Grad LAB. House students have the typical 4 periods per day on an A/B day schedule with late arrival or early release as an option for qualifying students. The Grad LAB, available to 12th graders, is computer-based digital instruction for students who need to complete a few credits to graduate and require a half-day program. *Note, Cardwell accepts students throughout the year, outside of the School of Choice application window. |
