Lee Students Zoom Off with Perfect Attendance

Lee Students Zoom Off with Perfect Attendance Attendance matters and it paid off today for 50 lucky students at Lee Elementary School. Thanks to the generosity of the Lil Lizzie Foundation, students will be riding in style with brand-new bikes as a reward for perfect attendance this six-weeks. Founder T. J. Winters, who lives in the neighborhood and has become an active community partner at Lee, visited with bikes in hand for a surprise drawing this afternoon. 50 students from grades K-5 were selected at random to receive a free bike. To help set the mood, the foundation brought friends from the Dallas/Fort Worth hit radio station K104 to host the event with radio personality Lady Jade. In addition to the drawing, every student with perfect attendance received free giveaways including a Dallas Cowboys hat and a book by children’s author Terrence Terrell who was also in attendance. In the end, Ms. Winters was so impressed, she announced 100 additional bikes would soon be delivered so more students could be rewarded for their efforts. Click here to see photos from the event.
