National School Board Recognition Month Gives Community a Chance to Say Thank You
January is School Board Recognition Month, and Irving ISD is joining the Texas Association of School Boards and other districts across the state to honor the countless contributions of locally elected advocates for Texas schoolchildren and public schools.
“Our school board is made up of dedicated members who are willing to shoulder enormous responsibilities for the betterment of the students in Irving ISD,” says Magda Hernandez, Irving ISD Superintendent of Schools. “As a team, they provide vision and leadership in their roles as advocates, and continue to work tirelessly to improve academic outcomes for our students.”
Irving ISD will formally recognize and celebrate the work of the board during the regularly scheduled board meeting Tuesday, January 22, at 7 p.m. at the district administration building, located at 2621 W. Airport Freeway in Irving. Student-created artwork and performances will be included in the special recognition.
Current Irving ISD Board of Trustees are:
Randy Randle, President
Steven Jones, Vice President
Nuzhat Hye, Secretary
Nell Anne Hunt
The Irving ISD community is encouraged to take a moment to thank school board members for caring about our children and giving so much to the community. During the month of January, use the hashtag #ThanksIISDTrustees, and leave an encouraging word on social media for Irving ISD trustees.
