ELL Scholars Compete in 6th Annual Debate

For the fifth consecutive year, English Language Learner (ELL) students from Nimitz High School took first place at the Independent English District-Wide Debate, each receiving a $1,000 scholarship from the Irving Schools Foundation. The debate featured teams of ELL students who are learning the English language after only being in the country 12 months or less. View photos from the event on the district’s Photo Gallery.
