The Facilities Services Department of the Irving ISD provides the greatest possible support to educators, students, and the community within the District. The Irving Independent School District, encompassing 45.7 square miles, provides educational services to over 35,000 students. The District consists of 46 permanent facilities and 32 single-classroom portable buildings totaling 5,186,407 square feet. All facilities lie on 603 acres of District property.
The Facilities Services Department serves as the District's largest support service organization in terms of personnel and budget. The Facilities Services Department consists of 297 full-time employees, with a operating budget of $9,800,000. The department maintains all facilities in terms of maintenance and repair, grounds care, custodial services, energy management, transportation, construction, and warehousing.
