Carla Carattini- Assistant Principal

Carla Carattini is honored to serve the HERD as an Assistant Principal alongside Mr. Espino and Mrs. Ruiz!

Ms. Carattini moved to Texas in 2007 to pursue a career in education. She started her journey with Irving ISD back in 2008 as a teacher and has served different roles across the district that have prepared her and opened all the right doors that guided her here today. Ms. Carattini earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad del Turabo in Puerto Rico. She obtained her masters’ degree in Educational/Technology Leadership from Lamar University and is currently a doctoral candidate at Walden University.

Ms. Carattini was born and raised in Cayey, Puerto Rico where all her family lives. She is a proud aunt of 5 amazing boys and a beautiful girl who is the princess of the family. She is also a dog lover and proud owner of the three cutest puppies, Bernie, Lola, and Phoebe. She enjoys cooking and reading a good book just for fun.

Ms. Carattini strongly believes in the positive impact that building strong and meaningful relationships among students, parents, the community, and school staff can have in achieving success for all. Creating a positive learning environment where students feel safe, loved, valued, and respected is her priority. She believes that as educators, it’s our responsibility to design learning experiences that meet the needs of all students embracing their uniqueness, talents, and exceptionalities. Ms. Carattini is looking forward to a great school year at Barton where students will always come first!
