Manuel Espino- Principal 

Mr. Espino is truly honored and excited to be serving the students, staff, parents, and community as Principal at Barton Elementary School. He began his career in Irving ISD in 2014 at MacArthur High School where he served as Dean of Students and Assistant Principal for three years. In 2017 he had the opportunity to serve as an Assistant Principal at Austin Middle School. Before joining Team Irving, Mr. Espino worked in Garland ISD as a fourth- and fifth-grade self-contained bilingual teacher and fourth-grade ELAR/Social Studies GT teacher. Mr. Espino is passionate about interacting with and establishing relationships with students and teachers to ensure that students and teachers reach their maximum potential.

Mr. Espino earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University- Commerce. He is currently working on his Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at Southwestern College. When he’s not at school, Mr. Espino loves to spend time with his family. His wife Michelle works in Irving ISD as a Counselor at Austin Middle School. They have a gorgeous daughter named Makenna and are expecting a baby boy named Manuel this December.  They also have an energetic 6-year-old Morkie puppy named Brody.
