Floyd Williams, Assistant Principal

Floyd Williams, Assistant Principal

In the 2018-2019 school year, Floyd Williams begins his 14th year as an educator and his eighth year at Irving High School as assistant principal. He is very excited to work with such a dedicated staff, hard-working students, supportive parents and a caring community.

Upon graduation from Stephen F. Austin State University, Mr. Williams sidetracked from an educational path and began a 10-year career as an adult probation officer in Dallas County. Feeling a burning desire to make a greater impact in our world, he decided to pursue a career in education. Prior to serving as an assistant principal, he worked as a third and fourth grade teacher and an elementary math specialist.

When he is not at school, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Twila, and his two children, Angel and Austin. Among his passions are mentoring, watching sports, spending time with family and serving the community through his church. He also enjoys watching the beloved Dallas Cowboys.

Mr. Williams feels honored to be an assistant principal at Irving High School.  He looks forward to all of the challenges and successes that can be achieved together.
