Ahna Gomez, Principal

Ahna Gomez joined Tiger Nation at the beginning of the 2014-15 school year after serving as the principal of L.V. Stockard Middle School in Dallas for four years.  Gomez started her career as a sixth grade teacher at Maria Moreno Elementary School in Dallas. She also served as a curriculum writer/professional development presenter and seventh and eighth grade science teacher in DISD.  She worked as an associate principal at MacArthur between 2007 and 2010, serving as summer school principal in 2010.

Ms. Gomez is passionate about serving as the principal of Irving High School.  She looks forward to engaging in the work of ensuring all Irving High students have equal access to a quality education.  Ms. Gomez aspires to make Irving High a school where teachers focus on teaching and students focus on learning.

Ms. Gomez earned a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, a master’s degree in interdisciplinary science from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas.
