Amanda Brown, Assistant Principal

After 15 years in Education, Amanda Brown believes in the power of collaboration among teachers, administrators, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure that all students can learn and have the right to a quality education.

Before moving to Texas with her family, Mrs. Brown taught English, Theatre, and Dance in Connecticut, West Virginia, and Mississippi where she was named Mississippi Theatre Teacher of the Year in 2009. While being in Irving ISD, she has served as an English teacher, department chairperson, and campus Academic Specialist at Nimitz.  She is excited and honored to remain a Viking as she transitions into administration as an Assistant Principal.

Mrs. Brown earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from West Liberty University in West Virginia and her Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University.  When she’s not at school, Mrs. Brown loves spending time with her husband and three sons, reading biographies, and traveling to NYC to enjoy the latest Broadway debut with her mother.
