Anabel Coughlin, Assistant Principal

Anabel Ibarra Coughlin graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Texas and joined the Irving ISD team in 2010. Her first position was at Barbara Cardwell Career Preparatory Center, an alternative education high school, where she taught Spanish 1, 2, 3 Honors, and AP 4. At Cardwell, she found her calling; she loved the classroom, her students and teaching. During this time, she was on the Campus Improvement Committee and a Spanish 2 curriculum writer. She joined Cardwell Prep’s leadership team as Instructional Technology Specialist in 2014 and enrolled at UNT, once more to earn her Master of Educational Leadership. As an ITS, she lead campus and district PD, served on the English and Social Studies curriculum writing teams, and on the campus PBIS committee.  In 2015, she completed her Masters. She served as Cardwell’s ITS until 2017, and is now currently an administrator at Lady Bird Johnson Middle School. She was a proud eagle at UNT, she was a proud eagle at Cardwell, and she continues to be a proud eagle at Johnson Middle School.
