Never Hear “I forgot my lunch money!” Again!
“I forgot my lunch money!” - a universal statement that sends parents everywhere into panic. Phone calls are made, money is quickly added to your child’s account or lunches are hurriedly dropped off at school, and parents start their day somewhat frazzled. But Irving ISD has just made it a little bit simpler.
Beginning this August, Irving ISD will offer free breakfast AND lunch to all students in PreK through eighth grade. Yes, you read that correctly, parents! Breakfast and lunch will be served at no charge for all PreK through eighth-grade students, thanks to the district’s participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
Irving ISD plans to expand this service to high schools in the near future.
Parents, if your child has money on their lunch account, do not worry as the funds roll over each year. Students will be able to utilize the funds to purchase additional snacks and meals if they choose to do so.
At Irving ISD, we know our parents have many things on their “to-do list.” Parents can cross “Lunch Money” off because Irving ISD has you covered.
