Magda Hernandez Hired as Irving ISD Superintendent
A long-serving Irving ISD employee with deep ties to the community has been hired as the next leader for the Irving Independent School District. The Board of Trustees has approved the hiring of Magda Hernandez as superintendent of schools for the 33,000-student district. Hernandez was named the lone finalist for the position last month. After completing the state required 21-day waiting period on December 17, she signed a contract during a special-called board meeting December 18.

The Board of Trustees will host three community meetings throughout Irving to give residents an opportunity to complete the input form (online or printed) and ask questions regarding the process. The meetings are open to the public, spanish interpretation will be available. The meeting dates are:
