Student Learning

  • Irving ISD offers a multisensory approach to teaching students in need of services for dyslexia.

A multisensory approach is a way of teaching that appeals to multiple senses simultaneously. By using a multisenseory approach, the teacher is able to engage the student in more than one way. This helps children build neuarl pathways in the brain. These connections help students learn more effectively. This approach is not only beneficial to struggling readers, but also to students who prefer one way of learning over another.
