Last Thursday was a scene of celebration at Irving High School for the 17th Annual Irving Celebration of Excellence (ICE). Many great school programs and projects were honored during the night with the coveted ICE Award going to de Zavala Middle School for its National Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration.
Student musicians from de Zavala Middle School had the opportunity to perform at the renowned Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas’s historic Arts District on Saturday, February 25.
During the weekend of January 21st, the de Zavala Kickstart Kids Intermediate Demo Team competed in the KickStart Kid's Martial Arts Extravaganza. Competing against eight other teams in North Texas, de Zavala placed second.

Irving ISD was named the 2015 National Advanced Placement (AP) District of the Year for expanding student access to AP courses and improving AP Exam performance.
$22.5 million in scholarships were award to students in 2015. 137 scholars were awarded scholarships through The Irving Schools Foundation.
