  • DISTANCE LEARNING

Teachers will be reaching out to students as the district begins its distance learning plan on March 24th. It is very important that your student checks their school email in addition to Google Classroom as these will be the primary means of communication.

Do not hesitate to reach out by email to your students’ teachers, counselor, dean, or administrator.  We will provide more information as we get it.  Please know Lamar cares about our students, and we are still here to serve.

  • Parent Center Goes to SMU

A few parents from Lamar Middle School  along with Mrs. Taylor, Lamar’s parent liaison, took a road trip via (TRE) to Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas. After catching two trains and one bus they finally made it to their destination. The parents attending the field trip received a wealth of information relating to their student's academic journey within the district. Additionally, they were able to see the limitless opportunities and avenues available that the district provides to help all Irving students become successful socially, academically, and, emotionally.  SMU and Irving ISD are working together to create a global gateway with limitless opportunities that shape and position students for success no matter where they go or what they pursue! It is Mrs. Taylor's desire that an inviting climate and culture is created that includes all stakeholders: students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the entire community, working together to create successful students!

  • Thanksgiving Lunch for Parent Volunteers

Rita Taylor the Parent Liaison at Lamar M.S. in Irving TX, and the wonderful parent volunteers went on a field trip to Cracker Barrell to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal. It was great! We are so excited about our next outing.  Lamar is thankful for the many hours these individuals pour into our campus.
