  • 8th Grade Science STAAR Test & Biology EOC on Wednesday, May 12

    On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, the only students on campus will be taking a STAAR science exam or Biology EOC. This includes all eighth graders as well as GT students taking the 8 Science test, and all Biology students.

     

    All other students will learn remotely.

  • 8th Grade Social Studies STAAR on Thursday, May 13

    On Thursday, May 13, 2021, the only students on campus will be taking a grade 8 STAAR Social Studies test. This includes all in-person and remote eighth grade learners.

  • STAAR Testing Information 2020-21

    STAAR testing for the 2020-2021 school year is coming up very soon. This year, STAAR testing will be conducted differently than in previous years. All students taking STAAR or EOC tests MUST test at the Johnson Middle School campus.

    ** In-Person Learners and Remote Learners will have different testing dates for Reading and
    Mathematics STAAR and EOC tests. It is important that you review the dates below to see when your students are testing.

    Tuesday, April 20, 2021 Tuesday, April 20, 2021 All 6th and 8th grade students will participate in remote instruction unless taking the English I EOC. All 7th grade students will come to campus to test.

    Wednesday, May 12, 2021 Wednesday, May 12, 2021 In-Person and Remote students not testing in grades 6 and 7 will participate in remote instruction. All students taking a Grade 8 Science or Biology test will come to campus.
    Grade 8 Social Studies Thursday, May 13, 2021 Thursday, May 13, 2021 In-Person and Remote students not testing in grades 6 and 7 will participate in remote instruction. All students taking a Grade 8 Social Studies test will come to campus.

  • Optimize Your iPad for Canvas

    If you're having technical difficulties with your iPad and can't access assignment within Canvas, try these steps.

    If you see the "cookies disabled" message like this, go to your iPad settings and allow cookies and cross-site tracking.

    Start by checking your Safari settings

    1. Go to your iPad settings

    2. Find Safari on the left side

    3. Make the "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" and "Block All Cookies" buttons gray

    4. Your settings should look like this:

    Next, check your Chrome settings

    1. Go to your iPad settings

    2. Find Chrome on the left side

    3. Make the "Allow Cross-Website Tracking" buttons green

    4. Set your Default Browser App to Chrome

    5. Your settings should look like this:

    Finally, make sure you've registered Google Drive to your Canvas account.

    1. Go to Canvas (make sure you're using CHROME for this, not the app; access Canvas at www.learn.irvingisd.net)

    2. Click on your account icon in the top left corner

    3. Click on Settings

    4. Ensure that "Google Drive" shows up on the Registered Services side. If it's on the right side under "Other Services," just tap it and sign in.

    5. Your screen should look like this:

    If you're still having difficulty, reach out using this Google Form found in every teacher's Canvas course. Note: this form is only accessible to users who are signed in with their IISD Google account

  • New Traffic Pattern for 2020-21

    As you make your way to school this year, remember our new traffic pattern for drop off and pick up in the north parking lot. Please enter through the WEST entrance and exit through the east entrance. ‬Parents should not be in the teacher parking section.

    Busses and special passes will continue to use the front drive and staying on the right side of the lane. Remember to keep the bus lane clear.
