Grading Policy During Distance Learning
Irving ISD Grading Guidelines - Distance Learning
During this time, we are finding innovative ways to deliver instruction, but also are looking at our assessment practices to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed and are not penalized in any way by our current grading system.
Therefore as we address Irving ISD grading guidelines for the 5th and 6th Marking Periods for 2019-2020, equity of instruction, learner impact, family needs and access to technology were considerations along with TEA’s Guidance on Grading.
During the COVID-19 closure:
All activities (assignments, tests, projects, etc.) will be evaluated on a Met Standard/Not Met Standard (100% or 69%) criteria for the 6th Marking Period.
Assignments will be graded and posted on Home Access Center in a timely manner so that students are receiving appropriate feedback and parents are able to access accurate information.
It is the expectation that students complete activities in the reasonable time allowed by the teacher. Students should follow the A/B Day Class Schedule
PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL OR PEACHJAR FOR ADDITONAL DETAILS ON ON GRADING , Including how the 6th six weeks will average into final semester grades. You should also contact your child's teachers if you have any specific questions.
