Administrator Bios

  • Eric Ogle, Principal

    After earning degrees in Language and Composition and Communication Studies at the University of North Texas in 1998, Eric Ogle began working with young people as a youth minister.  He joined Irving ISD in 2003 as an English and Communication Applications teacher.  He taught for five years at Cardwell Career Preparatory Center then earned his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.  He began serving as an administrator, working for two years at Lamar Middle School, then he returned to Cardwell CPC as an Assistant Principal.  In 2014, he moved to Nimitz High School to serve as an Assistant Principal for two years.  In 2016, Mr. Ogle returned to Lamar Middle School as the Principal. Mr. Ogle believes the entire school community – students, educators, and parents – can always learn and grow, and he believes that we all should be involved in ventures that positively affect others, not just ourselves. Lamar Middle School is a community that cultivates these beliefs: learning, growing, and belonging for all.

  • Lauren Victor, 8th Grade Assistant Principal

    Lauren Victor is originally from Springfield, IL.  She graduated from Southern Methodist University with degrees in Latin American Studies and Spanish Language and Literature.  She received her Master’s degree from Texas A&M Commerce in Educational Administration.  She was a high school Spanish teacher in Garland ISD and then an administrator in Dallas ISD before joining the Lamar administration team in 2013.  Ms. Victor loves working with middle school students because she sees how quickly students change and develop at this level.  She wants her students to not only be successful in their academic challenges, but to grow and mature as individual members of society.  Outside of school, she enjoys traveling with her family and getting to know new places. She is usually in the middle of a good book and treasures the time she spends reading to her two little boys.

  • Cynthia Erwin, 6th Grade Assistant Principal

    Mrs. Erwin is proud to be a long-time Irving resident and a public-school educator. She is a graduate of MacArthur High School, Our Lady of the Lake University, and the University of Texas at Arlington. Since 2002 she has served the students in Irving ISD as a Classroom Teacher, Academic Specialist, Curriculum Writer, and currently as an Assistant Principal at Lamar Middle School. Mrs. Erwin firmly believes that regardless of her students’ different gifts and talents, they ALL have the potential to be successful. Because of this, she values building relationships with her students and families, so she can be a true partner in helping her students achieve those successes.

  • Brittney MiShaw, 7th Grade Administrative Liaison

    Brittney MiShaw is an Irving ISD alumnus that attended Lively Elementary, Austin Middle School, and Irving High School. After graduating from Irving High School, she attended Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teacher Education. Mrs. MiShaw began her teaching career at Lamar Middle School in August of 2011, where she served as an 8th grade Special Education Inclusion Teacher, girls’ athletic coach, and currently as the Administrative Liaison. She received her Master of Science degree from Arkansas State University in Special Education and earned her Principal Certification in Educational Leadership at Lamar University. Mrs. MiShaw believes that building positive relationships and setting expectations for all students is the foundation of being an effective educator. Her moto is, “Taking the time to learn and build relationships with my students is the stepping stone for me to gain their trust when trying to help them achieve academic and social success.”

  • April Richmond, Dean of Students

    April Richmond was born in Ft. Lewis, Washington and spent most of her childhood between Tacoma, WA, El Paso, TX, Griesheim, Germany, and Irving, TX, (she’s a proud Army Brat). After graduating from Irving High School, she matriculated to American University in Washington D.C and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Media Communication with a minor in Graphic Design. After earning her bachelor’s degree, she moved back home to Texas and received a Master of Science degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Texas Christian University. Upon earning her master’s degree, she decided to join the field of education. In the fall of 2005, April began teaching and coaching at Lamar Middle School, before taking on the role as Dean of Students Ms. Richmond was the AVID Coordinator/Elective Teacher and the Yearbook Adviser.
