NeTassha Rendόn, Principal
I am thrilled to be the principal at Brandenburg Elementary! I’m blessed to lead a staff who achieved an “A” rating with 5 distinctions from the state of Texas. I look forward to working alongside parents, staff, and the community to ensure all our students continue to be successful and love learning. I cannot wait to see the growth and accomplishments our school will continue to achieve as we work together this year!
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education from the University of North Texas and a Master’s degree in Leadership with a focus on Dual Language from the University of Texas at Arlington. Additionally, I have recently completed my PhD in Curriculum & Instruction at the University of North Texas. I’ve served in several different educational capacities: bilingual teacher, curriculum writer, college professor, academic specialist, and administrator.
Most importantly, I am the proud mother of two Brandenburg cougars.
Mr. Sam Bernal, Assistant Principal
I began my career in education in 2010 at T.J. Lee Elementary as a Third Grade Bilingual teacher. I then taught fifth grade bilingual science at Schulze Elementary for four years. During my last year at Schulze I was honored to be chosen as the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year. During the 2015-2016 school year I had the wonderful opportunity to serve the students and parents of Stipes Elementary as the Administrative Liaison.
I received my bachelor's degree in History from Texas State University and my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our two dogs, and our foster animals. My wife and I have lived in Irving since 2011 and truly enjoy serving the community in which we live.
I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to work with the students and teachers at Brandenburg Elementary. I look forward to supporting our students, teachers, parents, and community as we strive towards our goal of creating bilingual, biliterate and bicultural individuals who love learning and think critically in a global society.
