Rachel Morton, Principal
Principal Rachel Morton is entering her second year as the leader of Elliott Elementary. She grew up in West Texas, and obtained her Bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M, in Canyon. After graduation, she moved to the Dallas area to begin teaching. It is in Dallas where she met and married her husband Michael, and they enjoy watching their son play soccer! "Our weekends are spent on the soccer field."
Principal Morton spent 13 years in Grand Prairie, as a classroom teacher, strategist, and Instructional Coach. In that time, she earned her master’s degree from Texas A&M-Commerce. After her years in Grand Prairie, she decided it was time to learn and grow with another district, and that is when she came on with Irving!
Principal Morton spent one year at Keyes Elementary as the Academic Specialist. Then she moved to Farine Elementary for 5 years as one of the assistant principals. In June 2021, she accepted the opportunity to serve at Elliott! "I’m honored to be here for year two, and I look forward a successful year!" Mrs. Morton thanks you for instilling your trust in her and the staff, as we work to provide a safe and engaging environment for every Eagle!
