Christine Ruiz, Principal
A familiar face. Christine Ruiz, previously an assistant principal at the school, is now the school’s principal.
Prior to her time at Barton, Ruiz worked as a Title I academic specialist at Townsell Elementary School and spent 12 years at Brown Elementary School as a bilingual teacher and K-2 literacy specialist.
In addition to her 16 years of service as an educator and administrator, she is also a proud product of the district attending Schulze Elementary, Bowie Middle and Nimitz High schools.

Danaya Nabritt, Assistant Principal
In 2009 Mrs. Danaya Nabritt began her educational career with Oklahoma City Public Schools where she served as a teacher and remedial specialist. In 2013 she moved to Texas and worked in Dallas ISD before joining the Irving ISD family. Prior to her current role as Assistant Principal, she served as the Academic Specialist at J.O. Davis Elementary.
Mrs. Nabritt is a proud HBCU graduate that earned her bachelor’s degree from Langston University. There she realized the meaning of "Service to All Mankind" which she attributes to her service within her beloved sisterhood Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She later received her principal certification and M.Ed in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Mrs. Nabritt leads with a servant’s heart and believes servant leadership not only benefits her staff, but all educational stakeholders at Barton Elementary.
