“I am truly honored to have the privilege to serve as the principal of Brown Elementary,” says Mrs. Bloomfield. “I am committed to the growth and success of every child and look forward to working collaboratively with the entire Brown community building upon the amazing things that are already in place”.
Mrs. Bloomfield has worked in education for 20 years, starting her career as an ESL teacher. She joined Irving ISD in 2006, working first as a bilingual teacher, bilingual coach, district English Language Learner Specialist, Assistant Principal at Good Elementary school, and she is beginning her fifth year as the Brown Principal. She is a proud mother of three wonderful children who attended Irving ISD schools.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Endicott College Massachusetts and a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University.
“I look forward to building strong relationships with the families in our Brown community as we continue to ensure academic excellence for all our students. This will be a phenomenal school year for our Brown Bears”! says Mrs. Bloomfield.
Dr. Angelica Fountain, Assistant Principal
Dr. Angelica (Fernandez) Fountain is a Dallas native who grew up in Pleasant Grove. She knew from a young age that teaching was her calling. She is the oldest of four children and the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Dallas and her Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. In the fall of 2023, Dr. Fountain successfully defended her dissertation at the University of North Texas and earned her doctoral degree. To say that learning is her passion is an understatement!
She began her teaching career in Irving as a student teacher at Elliot Elementary. She was then hired and began her career at Farine Elementary, serving as a pilot teacher and district representative for the two-way Dual Language program. After leaving Farine, Dr. Fountain served as an Administrative Intern at Keyes, an Academic Specialist at Johnston, Assistant Principal at Britain Elementary and John Haley Elementary, and is excited to start her first year as a member of the Brown Elementary administrative team.
Dr. Fountain is grateful for the opportunity to serve and impact students daily. Her greatest inspiration is her sister, Ana-Alecia Ayala, who inspired the world with her viral video "Juju on that Chemo". She hopes to inspire students from similar backgrounds and help them realize that no dream is too big, and anything is possible!
In her spare time, Dr. Fountain loves to spend time and travel with her family and make memories together. She and her family love to support their favorite sports team, the Dallas Mavs.
She can’t wait to get to know and support the Brown community.
