Maria Teresa Bloomfield, Principal
“I am truly honored to have the privilege to serve as the principal of Brown Elementary,” says Mrs. Bloomfield. “I am committed to the growth and success of every child and look forward to working collaboratively with the entire Brown community building upon the amazing things that are already in place”.
Mrs. Bloomfield has worked in education for 18 years, starting her career as an ESL teacher. She joined Irving ISD in 2006, working first as a bilingual teacher, bilingual coach, district English Language Learner Specialist, and most recently at Good Elementary school as an Assistant Principal. She is a proud mother of three wonderful children who attended Irving ISD schools.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Endicott College Massachusetts and a Master of Education from Southern Methodist University.

Delicia Floyd, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Floyd is thrilled to be starting her seventh year at Otis Brown Elementary school, and she is looking forward to an outstanding school year. Her career in Irving ISD began in 1995. She taught Pre-Kindergarten/ESL for four years at J.O. Davis Elementary and spent fifteen years at Kinkeade Early Childhood School as a teacher, academic specialist and assistant principal. She knows in her heart that every child has the potential to be successful at school and throughout life. It is her mission to instill a love of learning in the hearts and minds of every student and to provide them with the tools they need to be successful, life-long learners.
Cindy Peralta, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Peralta is excited to join the Brown Bear family as one of the assistant principals. She graduated from the University of North Texas in 2014 with a degree in Interdisciplinary studies with a focus on Mathematics. Mrs. Peralta graduated from the University of Texas in Arlington with her Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. She is an Irving ISD product who is committed to giving back to the community that saw her grow and helped her become the leader she is now. Mrs. Peralta began her educational career teaching math at Crockett Middle School, she was the dean of students and then became the administrative liaison before joining Brown Elementary. She believes that all students can learn when given the right tools. Mrs. Peralta enjoys spending time with her family and visiting national parks. She looks forward to a great school year with the Brown Bear family!
