Chief Financial Officer
Gary Micinski, an experienced and accomplished school business manager and educator, has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Irving ISD since August, 2015. Micinski’s experience ranges from serving as a teacher in the 1980s and 90s to central office positions for the last 20 years. He is currently responsible for the business operations for Irving ISD including accounting, tax collections and purchasing. Throughout his 20-years in school business operations, Micinski has managed more than $100 million of bond issues and bond refundings, earned superior achievement on all FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) ratings and led his school district to two rating increases by Moody’s Investor Service and Standard & Poor’s Financial Services. Micinski is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA) with the Texas Association of School Business Officials. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in business from Central Michigan University, a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Houston. He also holds teacher, principal and superintendent certifications for the State of Texas.
