Purpose

Millions of students nationwide lack the access to technology and the skills they need to succeed in the digital world. Since 2017, Irving ISD, Verizon, and Digital Promise have been working to help solve this problem through a transformative program called Verizon Innovative Learning Schools (VILS).

What we are doing in Irving ISD

Irving ISD is one of two districts across the nation selected to participate in the first ever VILS high school program. Digital Promise will collaborate with Verizon to equip every ninth grade student and teacher at Irving ISD with a device and a data plan. Students also get a keyboard, headphones and a bag to hold everything!

In addition to free technology and access, Verizon Innovative Learning Schools will receive extensive teacher training, support, and the opportunity to engage in the innovative use of technology for high-impact learning.

Student iPads have been distributed to all 9th graders! If your student did not get theirs. Please contact your student's school or teacher.
