Everything You Need to Know About Annualized Salary


Board Approves Salary Increase and Bonus for 2023-2024 School Year - Cost Exceeds $17M

  • The Irving ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a salary increase and bonuses for the 2023-2024 school year.

    The salary increase is as follows:

    • Paraprofessionals - 5% increase
    • Teachers - $3,500 flat rate increase to pay steps 0-4; average 2% increase to remaining steps
    • Nurses, Librarians, and Counselors - 2% average increase
    • Administrative Professionals & Other Exempt Professionals - 2% increase
    • Operations - $1.00 per hour increase for the following employees:
      • Food Services Nonexempt
      • Facilities Services Nonexempt
      • Student Transportation Nonexempt

     

    Please note:

    • Full-time employees whose salary exceeds the maximum of their respective pay grade (pay band), will receive an increase of 1.5% at the midpoint.
    • The pay increases for paraprofessionals, administrative professionals and other exempt professionals and operations staff are based on the midpoint of the 2022-2023 pay bands.
    • Depending on the outcome of the legislative session, there may be additional increases presented at a later date.
    • Employees must have worked at least 90 days in the position to receive a salary increase.

     


    Retention Incentive/Signing Bonus

    Irving ISD is excited to announce that the Board of Trustees also approved a retention incentive for returning full-time employees and a signing bonus for full-time new hires. Employees who meet the eligibility requirements will receive a one-time payment of $2,000 by the end of October. Please see below for eligibility criteria.

     

    Retention Incentive Eligibility for Current Full-Time Employees

    • Returning full-time employees who remain employed by Irving ISD and are TRS eligible on or prior to June 30, 2023.
    • Must be full-time.
    • Must be an active contributor to the TRS retirement system.
    • Must have signed a Letter of Assurance or Contract for the 2023-2024 School Year.
    • Must not have submitted a notice of intent to separate from employment with Irving ISD.

     

    Signing Bonus Eligibility for Full-Time New Hires

    • Must be hired by August 14, 2023.
    • Must be full-time.
    • Must be TRS eligible.
    • Must have signed a Letter of Assurance or Contract for the 2023-2024 school year.
    • Must not have submitted a notice of intent to separate from employment with Irving ISD.

     

    Please note:

    • Retirees are not eligible for the payment.
    • The retention incentive and signing bonuses are not TRS-eligible compensation.
