Irving ISD continuous commitment to educational excellence has led to the 1:1 Technology integration. Students in grades Pre-K through 12 grade now receive a student-issued device.
This Irving ISD-owned device will provide additional support for our students and Teachers. Students can access multiple digital learning tools through Classlink, complete innovative tasks, and assignments. The district hopes to emphasize collaboration, critical thinking, and good citizenship.
Parents and students are welcomed to reach out to your campus for any questions regarding these devices.

Our students will receive a device according to their grade level:
Grade Device Pre-K iPad K - 5th 2-1 Chromebooks 7th - 9th VILS iPad 10th - 12th 2-1 Chromebooks

Any Irving ISD student device that is not working properly or is damaged must be reported immediately via email to Techsupport@irvingisd.net. When you send your email, please add a brief but detailed explanation of the damage. Once you send your email, your Campus Technician will contact you within the next 48 hours.
All repairs need to be performed by Campus Technicians. Irving ISD student devices cannot be repaired by a 3rd party vendor or any other unauthorized individual.

If the Irving ISD authorize personnel determines that there was intentional damage, gross negligence to the device, or accessories. The student/parent or guardian is responsible for the full payment of the damage.
If the device is determined beyond repair, the student/parent or guardian is responsible for the full price value of the device/accessories.

If a device or accessory is stolen, it must be reported immediately to your school administrators and reported via email to Techsupport@irvingisd.net. The device will be remotely disabled.
A police report must be filed by the student/ or parent or guardian. A copy of the police report must be provided to the campus administrator prior to the assignment of a new device.

Can I repair my district-issued device, if I know how?
No. Campus Technicians have been certified to properly repair a district-issued student device by the manufacturer. Any uncertified repair could potentially void the device warranty.

My device is not working properly, Who should I contact?
Please contact your Campus Technician by sending an email to Techsupport@irvingisd.net. When you send your email, please add a brief but detailed explanation of the problem, any screenshots, or error messages you see. Once you send your email, your Campus Technician will contact you within the next 48 hours.

What happens if I lost my charger?
Lost items such as cases and cables will be charged the actual replacement cost. Students are able to purchase replacements chargers or cables directly from their campus.

What is the cost for Repair/replacement of the device? (Needs update)
Students will be held responsible for ALL damage to their district-provided device. Should the replacement cost of repair exceed the cost of purchasing a new device, the student will pay full replacement value.
The following parts prices serves as a sampling of the most common parts. The final cost of repair may vary based on the current available market price.

Can I remove the case or change it to another one?
No, devices need to have the designated cases installed at all times. IrvingISD has tested multiple cases for our devices and has chosen the ones that protects our devices the best.

Can the district inspect a student device?
Yes. A student district-issued device can be subjected to inspection. Parents/Guardians are also encouraged to inspect their child's device.

How should students take proper care for their device?
It is important to keep our devices in good working conditions. Here are some tips that will help you keep your device in great shape:
- Keep your device cases installed at all times.
- Charge your device every night in a common area of your home (living room or Kitchen). Use only the charger and cable provided.
- Do not leave anything on your keyboard when closing the lid your device screen is fragile.
- Keep your device away from food or drinks.
- Keep your device away from extreme temperatures, such as outdoors or in a car.
- Remember to keep your password to yourself, never share it with anyone.
- Do not leave your device unsupervised.
- Do not loan your device.

I am moving to another district, can I take my device with me?
No, All student devices and accessories belong to Irving ISD. Each device is also configured to be used by Irving ISD students only, as a result, the device and its accessories (including cases, chargers, cables, etc) would need to be returned to the campus the student attended.

What are the consequences for inappropriate use of student Chromebooks or tablets?
Each student is required to comply at all times with the Irving ISD Handbook, Student's code of conduct, technology user agreement as well as any local, state, or federal laws.

What if my device runs out of battery during the day?
Students are expected to bring their devices every day fully charged and ready for each class. Teachers may allow students to charge devices as needed, subject to classroom, campus procedures and power source availability.
