Transfers Overview

Irving ISD provides families with options through a Board approved transfer application process. Here are the two ways a parent can request a student transfer:
- An In-district Transfer may be granted to current Irving ISD students wishing to attend a district school outside of their attendance zone for approval reasons. The In-district transfer window for the 2024-2025 school year will be open from March 1st – July 19th, 2024. During that window, the priority transfer window will be from March 1st, 2024 - April 12th, 2024 and the second chance transfer window will be from April 13th, 2024 - July 19th, 2024. Learn More

When will I be notified if my transfer request is approved or denied?
Families that apply during the in-district priority window (March 1-April 12, 2024) will be notified via email that they have been accepted or wait listed by May 10th, 2024. The transfer window will remain open after April 12th through July 19th. Families that did not get in during the priority window and those that apply during the second window will be notified of their status by the schools they applied for.

My child is entering PreK next year. Can I submit a transfer request?
Families who live within Irving ISD boundaries may submit a transfer request for PreK.
Transfers for out-of-district families are currently unavailable – unless you are an Irving ISD employee. Only district employees can submit an out-of-district transfer request for PreK. -
Are transfers allowed for dual language or Signature Studies programs?
Admission into Singley Academy is based on an application and lottery process.
District students will be notified of the application timeline by their middle school campus and by visiting IrvingISD.net/ApplySingley. -

Do I need to renew a student transfer every year?
Once your transfer has been accepted your child can stay in that schools feeder pattern unless the transfer is revoked due to attendance or behavior.
